In 2024, Lux Night KUMAMOTO was born with the concept “Encountering Higo Hosokawa Culture.”
In 2025, the theme “Miyamoto Musashi × Hosokawa Culture” was chosen, and Lux Night KUMAMOTO 2025 was confirmed.
This
year's theme, Miyamoto Musashi, was invited by Lord Higo Hosokawa
Tadatoshi and spent the final five years of his life in Kumamoto, where
he authored the famous “The Book of Five Rings” and “The Way of the
Solitary Traveler.” He also left behind outstanding works in the worlds
of calligraphy, painting, and crafts, greatly influencing Hosokawa
culture.
Lux Night
KUMAMOTO 2025 is an immersive night walk themed around “Musashi the
Man,” traced through bamboo lanterns, light, and sound.
